The Prima collections are just wonderful for mini albums, and the Salvage District collection is no exception.
I just love the light, delicate colour palette of this collection, and it was easy just to add little hints of blue here and there. I think the colour really pops, but is still understated. I wanted to make this album for my mum, whose favourite colour is blue, and I knew she’d appreciate the shabby look, as opposed to something bolder.
The ephemera set that comes with the collection is an absolute must if making an album, as everything co-ordinates beautifully. But if you find you need a little more, you can very easily incorporate white embellishments, like flowers, and either leave them white, or add a hint of colour using Distress inks. If you also edge your pages with the same ink, it will ensure your embellishments look like they belonged there all along!
Fran-tage is another extremely useful item to have in your stash! Here I used the Shabby Blue variety to emboss the chipboard window and the MDF heart lock. As well as blue and white, the embossing enamel also contains gold, which makes for a lovely finish with a rich visual texture.
And that’s my Salvage District mini album cover. I hope you like it!
Have a fabulous day!
