Triple Embossed Butterfly Tag

I have to admit that when it comes to embossing, I’m mainly a heat embosser. I just love watching the powder melt, and feeling the smooth surface after it’s cooled.

So for today’s post, I brought out my heat gun and UTEE to show you a tag with a favourite technique of mine; triple embossing.

To create my background I used Distress Stains to build up some colour.  I then stencilled on some texture paste and added some pattern using the Prima Checkers Stamp and Kaisercraft Script Stamp.

The triple embossing technique is easy! You start with your shape (I suggest chipboard or similar for strength), colour it using inks, then cover it with Versamark and emboss it with UTEE. After it has cooled, add more Versamark and UTEE, and do the same again. And then – you guessed it – a third time. It leaves you with a beautiful glossy, enamelled looking finish.

You can also add some fine glitter to the UTEE during one or more of the stages, like I’ve done here. This way the glitter is suspended in the enamel, rather than sitting on top.

And there it is – my tag with triple-embossed butterfly. I hope you like it!

Have a fabulous day!
